Actually, You're the Quarterback

Turning the Spiritual Hierarchy Upside-Down

Today I’m here to get your panties in a wad. If I succeed and they do get in a wad, let yourself feel the discomfort, because discomfort creates pressure which moves us forward. And you're reading this because you want to move forward.

You know there is more to you, more to your story, and more to who you have been called to be. There's a reason that we love hero stories and magnificent concerts and dramatic movies, and it's because we have all been called to greatness that is bigger than ourselves. But our religious, cultural, and moral upbringing would have us believe that the only “good” way to earn power and influence is through humble obedience. Earning it through the moral posturing of not wanting it. I call this The Reluctant King, a human story we repeat over and over again about the prince who doesn’t want the life of a king, and goes out into the world on his own pretending to be a commoner. But at the end of the story, where does he always end up? The throne.

So, why do we love this so much? Because we fear that the wanting of power shows corruption, and we like to put our leaders through a corruption litmus test so it feels safer to give them our devotion. And since we’ve decided that not wanting power is morally superior, some of us will do this same posturing in our own lives. Because we all know that the “bad” way that people get power is by taking it. Calling it to themselves. Using every tool they have to grasp power and use it how they wish. And you know what? This is the best way to do it. We’ve been getting it wrong.

The most powerful people in this world did not wait on a deity to tell them what to do- they used their own intuition, their own connections, their own resources, and they went after what they wanted. Are these people always using this power and influence for the good of humanity? Absolutely not. In fact, usually not. Because “good” people don’t do this, do we? It’s true that sometimes there are really lovely, benevolent, and extremely successful people out there who use their power for good, but not as many as the bad ones. Why is that? Powerful people have no moral qualms about taking and using it. Truly influential people understand the power of power.

They don't listen to the garbage that tells them that they have to somehow earn it, or it has to be bestowed upon them as a reward for being “good”. They imagine it, and spend their lives bending the universe to pour out its resources, blessings, and attention onto them. And we think that this is selfish, and it absolutely is if you use it for selfish reasons, or if you trample people along the way. But how are you going to change the world with nothing? How are you going to change the world by sitting quietly in a corner and asking God to make it happen for you?

We have this idea in the spiritual world that our guides and angels are somehow smarter and better than we are, and that we’re just flawed humans here to learn and grow and make mistakes, and they might occasionally bless us as long as we’re sorry enough for being so bad. But THAT ISN’T TRUE. We have come here for a bigger and broader purpose, and we are the Captains of our spiritual teams. We came here because we are the smartest of the group. We are the most equipped. We are the bravest. We are the biggest, and we are the most well trained. You don't put your worst player out during the important game, and this time in history is incredibly important. You feel like you should be on stages, and accepting awards, and wearing crowns, and fighting battles, and liberating people, and leading nations because you're supposed to be. You are here because you're the best, because you can, have, and will harness and use your power, resources, and intuition against the oppressive forces at play. Your life feels like it should be big because it is meant to be.

Let me tell you- this life is not a morality test. You are not here to piddle around, mess up, learn from your mistakes, grovel, ask for forgiveness, and stay small. A way was made for YOU to change the world. To bring power to the purpose of stopping oppressive forces, lifting up the powerless, and saving humanity from its self-destruction. We are working WITH the spiritual forces that we keep worshipping and making ourselves small in front of. They are not always smarter or better or stronger than us, they can just see things we cannot. They can help make ways for us when we are struggling to do so. They can guide us in ways that will give us the most benefit towards fulfilling the purpose of our lives- the goal of why we are here. It was our turn to go out into the field, and they’re up in the stands speaking into their headset suggesting plays. This is a live action game, and those spirit guides and ascended masters and deities are giving us guidance for this moment. And sometimes, the players decide to make their own call. Why do they do that? Because they see and know things too, and this is co-creative. This is collaboration. It’s not about seeing how well we can follow orders.

The trajectory of your life is your decision. Nothing will happen for you if you wait for some sort of cosmic blessing that you feel that you can earn through obedience or morality. Do people in power “deserve” it? Usually not. They took it, and you can too, and should. The more good people that we have bending the universe towards themselves, funneling resources of power in order to change the world- the more we can get done.

One thing that we can all agree on is that everywhere around us, all the time, there is pain. People cannot survive in this society in the way that it has been built. We are so ill. We are so disconnected. We feel so powerless, but what if each of us stepped into our full power? What if we brought into our lives the truth of who we are, the truth of who we are meant to be, and instead of waiting for it to be given to us, we grabbed the torch, and we marched forward, cutting through the darkness.

Absolutely no one up there is adjudicating you, deciding if you're good enough to deserve a blessing. Stop holding them up on a pedestal and making yourself small- make yourself fucking huge. Step into your power and its fullness. Spread your aura all over your house, all over your city, all over your state. Call abundance and influence and power and community and freedom to yourself. These things are like a dog that got lost in a cornfield- stand at the edge of that field and call that dog by its name to you. You will be surprised that it recognizes you, and is happy to come home because you use it well. You're not a victim of this life and you cannot manipulate it into providing things for you by being good, whatever version of that you subscribe to. You already embody goodness, now it's time to pair goodness with power and change the world.

You have everything that you need right here, within you, right now in this second, to go after and achieve your purpose. You’re the captain of the team, so get out there and fight power with power.

Let's do it together.

Andrea

P.S.- Hope your panties are wadded up so tight up there. BE UNCOMFORTABLE FOR A MINUTE. Then, pull out your wedgie, and step into your life.
